A/C oil

Older subaru, did complete ac system parts removal and cleaning, for newer compressor. Just wondering how much oil to add to the various components, I've seen listings on how much the total system needs with a replace of this or that part. But not much on a total system pre oil.

If all the parts are new or flushed clean, you use the system specified amount, not any numbers listed for replacement of individual parts. It is OK to start with all of it in the compressor, the compressor is the only part that actually needs oil.

That is what I was thinking . If memory server , it was somewhere around 6 oz in the GM full size and mid size cars I have worked on .

Do not know about your car .

I like to use oil with UV dye , in case I end up trying to locate a leak .

Gotta be carefull with a compressor full of oil. It can't compress liquid.

When I DIY on my 04 Sienna AC, I just google it.
Granted you need to know what to put when searching.

Due to the fact that you only said "Older Subaru", you probably think that you can find information what that statement?
It need to be more specific and more specific until you get the info.
Then, if it is too specific, you need to be less specific.
Until you find what you need.
If that makes sense.

Another source may be a Subaru forum or car AC specific forum, where there may be a FAQ.

92 legacy, I found some specs, so far all is okay.
