I touted this FILTECH for a couple years as it was the ONLY one I ran on my 2014 Rogue where it didn't have odd engine noises. This uses the "Universal Asian Filter" Thread and Gasket I.D and Baseplate. Does not fit Toyotas.
Well I had a used one in the basement I ran in the Winter 2 years ago. Just did a quickie cut apart with a dremel and found THIS:

Now you know why !

Is there a hole in the media at the tear ?

What went back in and on the nissan?

Base plate looks similar to Kia/Hyundai OEM filter

Thank You for cut and post

Ouch!

What did you replace it with? I know the A02 is a Fram PH7317.

So much for the Filtech A01 being better than the Fram A02

Yes. Two pleats at both ends top and bottom !

Really took me by surprise. Though the car had a few below zero starts that season.

I don't recall if this HONDA S2000 spec filter is low efficiency / high bypass. I may be wrong.
cost $14 dollars at the Honda dealer - and failed regardless!
CAVEAT: It was not installed on the intended application.

Maybe a Gonher Mexico. Then I went to the Toughguard.

A contributing factor ? The Nissan engine programming holds the revs with the CVT very high ( 2500-3000) when driving during cold winter start and warmup.nothing you can do unless you want to head off at 10 MPH for 5 mins. Crazy.

Yes it makes a "slot" like the space under Draperies on a Window. It was torn top and bottom.

NP, but more time consuming than I recall especially croping and uploading photos!

Yeah from what I've seen and looked up on the Wix filter selector
It looks like almost all "Asian" Cars - except Toyota - have the same thread and gasket inner diameter.

Thread: 20 x 1.5 MM, Gasket I.D: 2-3/16"

I have run the Nissan (Gonher Mexico) and Fram Toughguard and M110A Mobil 1.

I don't have the car anymore and its all in the back two pages of the Owners Manual that I gave up when I traded it.

I have those to cut open - but I was looking around for a Nissan CHINA filter that made the engine knock in the Winter. I wnat that on deck.-
The only reason I went away from dealer filters. I don't want to mess with this stuff. I just want it to work

I don't believe so. The media appears weak and tore from the potting. Also it looks like there is precious little potting where the two pleats tore loose.
