I've ran 15W-40 HDEO in Cat equipped vehicles with no problems, and some of them like my Peugeot 106 burned a fair bit of oil, a lot of things failed on that car but not the Cat, or the engine.

E6/E9 ("low saps ") or E4/E7?
E6/E9 ("low saps ") or E4/E7?
Note that you can have E6, E7, and E9 all on one bottle and legitimately. Finding an E4 in North America is fairly difficult.
