Let's not turn this into a debate on which book is better. Just post what you're reading.

This book here by Shehan Karunatilaka won many awards. "Chinaman: Legend of Pradeep Mathew"

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinaman:_The_Legend_of_Pradeep_Mathew

It is named after the spin cricket players put on the ball that Mathew mastered quite well. A writer tracks down a legendary player who left the sport. It had great fanfare in the UK. Quite an interesting take on Shri Lanka society. Life is hard even for people at the top.

That's great!

I just bought a first edition of the whole set while in London. At Hatchard's in Piccadilly*.

An early Mother's Day present for Mrs. Astro.

What a coincidence. Let me know what you think.

I'm in the middle of reading "Psychedelic Bubble Gum: Boyce & Hart, The Monkees, and Turning Mayhem Into Miracles" by Bobby Hart.

"The Bluegrass Conspiracy" by Sally Denton

Investigative reporter's very readable non-fiction account of "Power, greed, drugs and murder..." in the Olde South Aristocracy of today. I'm an (Old) Kentucky homeboy.

+1 on The Gathering Storm
+1 for Victor David Hanson who does a great job cutting through BS - smart guy.

Seen at Hatchards once upon a time (but free for download) - A History of the English Speaking Peoples
