The automated bleed function purges air from the ABS module into the lines. You then bleed normally at the wheels. This process should be done first and, ideally, you would run the auto bleed function twice or three times if needed and re-bleed after each time. One note, on my '94 Corvette, there is a bleeder on the ABS module and I actually did the auto bleed and let the fluid run out the bleeder . The I did it again with the bleeder closed and did a brake bleed at the wheels. Worked real nice.
