Any thoughts on using Phil wood vs superlube in some dura ace hubs? I've used both in the past with great results... hubs are currently smooth and free, I'm good shape. Just haven't been serviced in probably 5 years and about 1000 miles!

Shimano uses Eni Autol Top 2000 grease - which is calcium complex with PAO or GIII oils. I've used M1, RL CV-2, Loctite ViperLube(not the clear stuff) and WD-40 Specialist True Multi-Purpose Grease in my Shimano hubs with good results.

Shimano grease isn't that expensive. Just don't use that [censored] Park Polylube.

Greetings nthach-

Where can this grease be bought here in the USA? All the eni greases I can find are only available in Europe. I looked for the Shimano grease and found eni Fett 2000 as the possible source of the excellent Shimano grease. Another possible equivalent is Motorex Long Term 2000. The Park Polylube is probably ExxonMobile Polyrex- a grease specifically formulated for ball bearing use and considered to be quite good.
