Quicksilver Mercury Outboard filter cut open

Quicksilver 35-822626Q03 off a Mercury 20hp 4-stroke outboard engine. It is unknown how long the filter has been on the engine, it did have some rust on the outside and the paint was flaking off, so probably a while.

ADBV was still pliable, the media seems decent although there were globs of glue here and there. It was replaced with a Napa 1365.

Interesting, not a filter you see every day! I can't tell the manufacturer from the pictures. Is that a rounded base gasket? Might suggest a Denso if it is.
 
+1. When I was boating I used a Fram filter and usually bought from a Marine store for about $10. I happened to be in a Walmart store and saw the same Fram filter for $3.99. Lesson learned. Ed

It did have a round base gasket.
