Some people, like me, have weird rhythms. Whenever I had a "day shift" and had to be driving somewhere at 9 or 10 in the morning, I'd be doomed. You want to send me to Calgary at a starting time of 10:00 p.m., all will be fine.

Well. So is using the phone with your hand on it, but. Dial 9-1-1 to report aggressive driving!

A tip I heard a long time ago is take off your shoes. (This was when American cars had light brake pedals.)
One night after a shift I tried it, and it worked! For 10 minutes. Then I was much sleepier than before.
So, if you need a 10 minute boost, go for it.
