Motul xcess 5/40 Vs Castrol 0 40

Hello. My observation between these oils is not scientific, just my own use
I have used both of these products in my 07 Acura MDX with a 3.7L. I must say I like the 5/40 better. Runs smoother, than the Castrol, in 5500 miles the Motul didn't burn a drop, the Castrol on the other hand 1/2qt in the same time frame. So when someone ask, which is better, I have to say Motul. It's also loaded with more mfg approvals.

That has been my experience as well on my MB E350, it preferred 5W40.

Motul is an extremely good oil, but not very well known in the US same as Total, both french extremely well thought of in the UE

Their prices are pretty fair I think especially with free shipping if you spend over 65

Most european cars will require 6 quarts
RMEuropean total: $33 (5qt) + $8 (1qt) = $41
Amazon total: $38 (5qt) + $15(1qt) = $53

Not talking about filters - its about $8 for my application at RMEuropean and around $16 at amazon.
Again, this is only for my application, if you only need 5qt then amazon is easier for sure

the other day I saw castrol 0w40 for $25 + they had a $2.5 coupon available for all of the castrol oils

EDIT: the coupon is still available at least to me

Edyvw I would guess you thing Castrol 0w40 is better than the Castrol 5w30 A3 , is it head and shoulders better , worth the extra money ?

Yes, 0W40 is definitely better than 5W30 A3.
But if $45 is not much, 0W30 would be my choice.

Got it delivered already.
I see it at $45. Still good price if you ask me. I was paying that oil before Castrol 0W40 some $9 for both VWCC and Tigaun.
