Why can't you use a full-size spare?

Tire Rack does have a donut of that size

You should be able to use this tire.

135R15 should work for your usage.

When there is no middle number, the ratio is 82. So 135R15 really means 135/82-15.

Can the tire even be replaced on a space saver spare if you could find it? I thought it needed special mounting equipment only available at the manufacturer. What is it off of?

Find a used car dealer with your car. He'll swap with you for $50.

The new donut spares are $90+.

Is a new mold date important?

The tire rack Kumho has a load rating of 95... what's on your current sidewall?

As long as it holds air and you would only use it temporarily, I wouldn't worry about it myself. What's the likelyhood you will ever use it? And while the Taurus might be hard to find in a junkyard, maybe newer models like the 500 would fit if the bolt pattern was the same.

Try your local Firestone or Goodyear dealer. Be prepared to pay. I think the Corolla/Civic/Focus might use the same temporary size.
