I'm told that it's good preventative maintenance to check the pH, specific gravity, and reserve alkalinity of your coolant to know when it's time to change it.

Can this be done by the average person and what type of equipment do I need to conduct these types of tests?

Thank you,
Ed

Depending on the coolant type....

Type-Specific "coolant test strips" will tell you just about everything you need to know.

Make sure you purchase the correct type.

They aren't universal, and also have a pretty short shelf-life
