Is that one of those pickup Explorers with a now 22 year-old plastic bed cover that bleeds rust-color?

Curious how the metal underneath has fared. My guess is that it remains rock-solid underneath, maybe some topical brown that's not pitted.

I just got the car and it clicked a lot (by my estimation) so I tried Formula Shell 5W-30.

It had quieted several engines before so in it went.

It did indeed quiet it down noticeably.

I had tried Mobil1 0W-40 European Formula which didn't effect the noise one bit.

Just accidentally bought a 1947 Co-Op E3 Tractor and a manure spreader Sunday... and drove it home 12 miles! Great time! Changed whatever the gross stuff was in the engine with Castrol 20w-50 twice while the oil filter is on its way from eBay, and will then run on a Napa Gold 1006 and Delo 5w-40.

Changed the trans/rearend, PTO gearbox and belt pulley gearbox.

Out- water mostly, and some slime.
In- Regal R&O ISO 100 hydraulic oil.
I got 20 gallons of new sealed hydraulic oil from work. They were going to dump it in the waste oil tank.

When the filter gets here I'll dump and fill everything again with the Delo and 10 gallons of Super Tech HD tractor fluid, also bought on clearance!
