aerosol cans not spraying

A while back i got a great deal on 3m brake cleaner cans. I bought a few cases. I used up a few and the other day i found my last case of 12.

I grab 2 obviously full cans and attempted to use them, it was a huge disappointment. A cheap dollar store water gun has more pressure.

Do i junk these cans? How do i fix them. I tried to shake the car fully and that didn't work. They are 100% full cans.



I go thru about 2-5 a year.

pop a hole in them and drain them and put it in a container.

Same here. Seems to be a problem with cans lately. Probably a switch to a "safer" propellant.

You should recharge them with compressed air. I'm sure there are commercial adapters but I've seen it done with a tire valve stem.

Where did you keep them while in storage ?
Possible a bad seal, and if stored in 'hot' temps (Garage/Summer time), it lost some pressure ?

A basement would be best because of less temperature variation.

Recharging sounds interesting.
If not, puncture and pour contents into a metal container (with cap).

I have done similar recharging of the cans for quite a while.

I use a rubber tip blowgun to hit them with 100 psi of compressed air.

Work just fine then!
