Mower in use a couple seasons with Briggs 625ex easy start engine was a little hard starting last season. Changed the spark plug and seemed to help. This year taking 8 to 10 pulls each start, that want do. Checked the plug and it looked perfect. Checked valve clearance, non adjustable that I could tell, they seemed fine. I was stumped. Pulled the engine fan cover just because. I was about to replace the cover when I noticed magneto coil armature was slightly rubbing the flywheel on one side. The screws were tight didn't look like it had slipped. What the [censored], I tore off a piece of a National Geographic magazine cover loosened the screws on the coil and put the paper between the coil and flywheel and retightened screws. Put it all back together and with one very light pull she fired up better than new. Insert post title here. LOL

Thought of that, no discernable play at either end of crank.
