Yes, the correct measure is to replace the seal, but I am looking into less laborious alternatives for now. Thanks guys.

ATP-205 has worked for me (F-450), but nothing lasts forever. Maxlife has helped with the XJ in my sig, a lot, it's slowed down enough that it doesn't even drip anymore.

Thanks.

I'm also up for trying a HM oil.. I just have a stash of 5w30 Synpower I'd prefer to use up.

Gold Eagle Oil Leak Stop is supposed to be really good.

Rislone makes a specific RMS leak-stop product as well.

I'd try a HM oil first, if that doesn't work then I'd try a stop leak product. Probably the Rislone product.

Not to State the obvious but your oil level is correct right ? Many VW owners had RMS leaks and they took their oil level down slightly , like a quarter of a quart and it stopped , I saw it for myself with my friends 2 year old VW . 2 years later and not a drip .

This may be hard for the North Americans to cope with....but 15W-60 A3/B4 is working very well in my Volvo.
