Surprise! The Corvette is pacing this year's Indy 500...again. The Grand Sport has a 460hp, 6.2L DI plant with an 8 speed paddle shift automatic transmission and dry-sump oil system. It looks good, but dang I'm getting bored with this rotating Corvette/Camaro thing year after year.

I bought one in 1980 that paced the 1978 Indy 500. One of them anyway. They sure have come a long way since that carbureted dog of a 350 that couldn't get out of it's own way.

I thought that the mid-engine Corvette was going to pace the 500 when it is introduced.
I guess this isn't the year.

There no Mopar engines in IndyCar......only Chevy and Honda.

I think I have been hearing about a mid-engine Corvette when I first really got into cars in 1999-2000.

It would never work. The rims aren't a half inch off the ground.
