Starting to look and review cameras for my vehicle. I don't understand the advantages/disadvantage of Capacitor units vs the other type. Any comment from actual users would be appreciated. Thank you. Ed Hayes

I'm on my 1st Dash Cam and it uses a Capacitor.
It's just one less devise I have to change batteries on.

But, what is also important is getting a quality Dash Cam.
Don't go low price.
I think spending $100 - $150 would get you a decent camera.

One thing I noticed when buying mine was that it's NOT like buying a regular camera.
There ALL made by overseas manufacturers, China, South Korea and ?
There is no Kodak, Cannon etc.

I'd never want to be without one.
Get one and you'll sleep better.

When I bought mine, it showed what temperature range it worked in.
Your in Florida, how hot does your car get ?

My camera attaches to the windshield with a suction-cup.
Several times it has loosened and would have hit the floor,
BUT I used cable-ties as a tether and the camera was just hanging from the rear-view-mirror.

I have a BlackVue 1080 resolution 2-channel (front/back) and my neighbour is using the Thinkware 2-channel and is happy with that.
