Running Boards Restored

If you have factory running boards (plastic) that are faded and need to be restored
Try Rust-Oleum bumper and trim paint
For $7.00 bucks it's a great product

I guess that'll work if you want them grayish black. Mine all color match the rest of the vehicle(s) except the plastic tread strip on the running boards, and I don't much want them slicker from paint, would sooner put black bed liner on than paint, even if it meant pulling off the plastic strips to put the bed liner down.
