seems VW got that under control unlike others. all manufacturers have various issues but LSPI can be catastropic like a failure in the valve timing. todays cars are more costly as well as troublesome + the $$ saved on gas better be put aside for future repairs or another vehicle. i stick with older less advanced vehicles + since retiring driving miles in a year is as much as i put on in a month years ago, hence mpg's mean little to me! i will never own anything with a CVT for sure, another possible big $$$$ issue. those with deep pockets care less but average joe needs a reliable economical vehicle. my traded VW jetta 1.8T went 200,000 without engine issues + with 275 hp + 300 tq gave me a consistent 30 mpg!!
