My Pontiac Grand Pa lost a door molding somewhere between here and Greenville-Spartanburg. Yes, it's a beater but it looks much more beat without it.

I got one off eBay. What do I need to attach it? Looks like it's held with double-sided tape. What's good and won't come off after a little while? Do I need to do anything to either surface besides clean it?

What's good to get the old stuff off easily?

3M 2 sided automotive tape to hold on the molding
As for removing the old residue, some others will chime in
Could try WD40, but wash the surface with soapy water after trying it.

Brake Clean. Spray it on the adhesive residue and scrub it off with those blue paper towels. Best to do outdoors.

visit SouthMainAuto on YouTube, that guy has a fetish for brake clean....and his method of application starts with a great sound )
