Our ice trail on the Red and Assiniboine rivers was shut down for the season today. The temperature got up to freezing (0 C) and ice gets pretty slushy at that point. I didn't skate the trail this winter, but was able to get out twice on the parallel walking/running/cyling trail with the bike. Here are a few shots from a few days ago. The 'warming huts' are more for fun than functional, but certainly add some colour to the ride. The trail at its maximum was about 8 km long, but by last week had been shortened to about 6 km.
