I tried to peel back the pleats. Near impossible. Ended up torching it to see the wire backed media.

Interesting and rather unique design. Got the ecore nylon cage with metal endcaps. The new Champ made Super Tech 9688 now has a similar design with standard cellulose media. Is that 'metal' "wire" backed media, or some kind of mesh material like Puro uses? MHL on can stand for Mahle perhaps?

Looks like it got the job done and could have gone much farther, oil and filter. Thanks for c&p.

Its made by Mann. So same company that owns puro. It is a mesh material, not real metal wire.

If not for the MHL on can with color of adbv, Mann would likely have been my first guess. Does base/tapping plate have four inlet holes like most German made Mann spin on?

It looks like the backing held up to the torch even though it's not metal mess? Looks like a well made filter, thanks for the C&P.
