Do you use oil additives or friction modifiers in your engine?

If so ....what do you use ,and how long have you been using it? Your thoughts on the product you use?

Lubegard BioTech, same as their Heavy Duty Engine Protectant other than bottle size. Not all the time, but I usually keep a quart on the shelf. I had a fairly informative discussion with a Lubegard exec and posted them on the board, along with a VOA of it. Good stuff.

I've used it as well.

Can you just add this to your oil by itself,or do you have replace it with oil?

I'm not sure what you mean but: Add it to your oil when you change it, don't overfill the sump. So if your car takes 5 quarts of oil add 4.5 quarts and one 15 ounce bottle, you will be GTG. If you're working from a quart bottle of Bio-EP, add half a quart, you'll get 2 OCI's worth from a quart. HTH

What is Lubegard BioTech supposed to do?

What does the OP want to accomplish?

Friction Modifiers go into differentials, no? I wouldn't dream of adding them to oil unless I knew EXACTLY what was going to happen.

YES to good oil and fluids
NO to additives unless you know.

I do use a zddp additive in engines that need it, otherwise no unless I am trying to remedy some sort of issue like sticking lifters/lash adjusters, rings, etc.
These are usually in older engines that have a spotty maintenance history, if an engine has been taken car of it doesn't need anything additional to go the life of the car most of the time.

As far as additives go, I currently run:

Torco MPZ 02 in my 2010 Accord...but before that, I ran 100K miles with LubeGard's Biotech
In my wife's 2010 Forester (now sold) I always run a can of LM MOS2

In my 2018 Silverado 3500, I'm getting close to dumping out my last free dealer oil change and start doing my own. In my truck, I'll run Archoil 9300

Do this on modern cars.

I have tried one on my 1988 Ford Escort to try and quieten the hydraulic lifters, it kind of started working after about a couple months of driving, i used Liqui Moly's Hydrualic Lifter Additive, normally i would not use any oil additives but it has really good reviews.
I will eventually change said lifters and call it a day...

LG Biotech for me as well. It's always quieted down the motors i've used it in as well as a slight increase in MPG over the long run. Been using it for at least 6 years or so.

Same here. Starting using Mobil I in 1978. No need for additional additives.
