Mixture of oil and WS2?

Hello,

In Honda sevice manuals sometimes a mixture of 50% engine oil and 50% MoS2 is specified for lubrication of various points.

Could an equivalent mixture of engine oil and WS2 assembly paste perform equally good or better?

What are they suggesting as a source????

The only thing that comes to my mind is MIL-PRF-83483 or equivalent

Hello Linctex,

Dow Corning MoS2 paste and engine oil or Rocol MoS2 paste and engine oil. Never heard of the above mentioned MIL. I will google it. Where would you use it?

Why not... MoS2 and WS2 are interchangable.... WS2 being even of better properties...

Checking the link now. Why isn't so readily commercially available as MoS2?
