There are three 2004 Camry repair volumes. Which ones (or all) do you guys recommend for a beginner? Each volume is pretty pricey so I'm trying to get away with purchasing just one or two instead of the whole set.

I'm really only interested in simple repairs like basic maintenance to the engine, braking system, and maybe cooling system.

The volumes are titled as followed:
Volume 1 - Preparation, Specifications, Diagnostics
Volume 2 - Diagnostics, Engine
Volume 3 - Chassis, Body, Electrical, Maintenance

If anybody has these books, I'd appreciate some input.

Published by? I like to use Toyota's Tech Info service, but it too can be costly. I'll get a few days worth, and download whatever I think I might need. Worth a look if you haven't been to it yet. Don't have link handy, just google Toyota tech info.

+1
These are great cars and the '04 is a fantastic year. A very well know vehicle and year for it's reliability especially the 4 cyl.

I use Alldata available free at my local library.
I print out what I need and I'm good to go.

I figure I've already paid for it through my local taxes...
