After doing some research on the topic, I've discovered the multiple benefits of this process.
Some of which include:
To remove or reduce phytic acid.
To remove or reduce tannins.
To neutralize the enzyme inhibitors.
To encourage the production of beneficial enzymes.
To increase the amounts of vitamins, especially B vitamins.
To break down gluten and make digestion easier.

I personally don't recommend the re-hydration process mentioned in many articles.
Instead, simply eating them (blending etc) will get you all the benefits you need.

If you don't soak your nuts, your literally throwing your money down the toilet!

I first thought it was about OP's rusty unbreakable/unmovable problem (too much salt/corrosion)....

I must say I was surprised visiting South (Florida/Georgia) about them serving boiled nuts at gas stops.

But I had a former coworker who really enjoyed the soaked almonds (about 3-4 hours).

OP, do you know what nuts are affected by this process?

What other nuts did I post about ? I don't recall having any issue with rusty nuts ???

But yes, all nuts, almonds, cashews pumpkin seeds, peanuts etc.

The only soaked nuts I know about are boiled peanuts, of which I am a huge fan.

I don't know, but you should probably consult your doctor if that happens.
