Noticed tonight upon shut down that I was getting this noise in consistent intervals. This video was taken about 10 minutes after the engine was turned off. Started it up and let idle for 30 seconds but the noise persisted after shut down again. Sounds like an actuator of some sort. Coming from the drivers side, front lower part of the engine. After about 30 minutes the noise stopped. Any ideas?

My bet would be a shorting coolant circulation pump. Happened to my A4 at around 49k. The coolant pumps run after shutdown to cool turbo and transmission and mine began making an almost Morse code type sound.

That's certainly similar. Post-shut down circulation system seems to operating correctly though.

I've never heard of this, can you go into more detail?

Does it have an electric vaccum pump? Ive heard this on Audi before, until it falls asleep it had power and would watch the vacuum fall and randomly revac it down until that branch of CAN went to sleep. Software update fixed it.
