What is an acceptable replacement battery for this car. I looked online and got contradicting info.
Also, what is the correct installation procedure for DIY.
The car has about 65,000 miles and was purchased 12/2012.
Thank-you for your help.

It doesn't use the same S46B24R JIS post battery as a Prius - it's an AGM BCI 24F/35 battery with a temperature sensor(that you can transfer) but you'll need to vent it. There should be a hatch in the trunk and it installs like any other battery.

I googled:

" 12 volt battery for 2012 Camry Hybrid LE 24F/35 "

And came up with a couple..... $300!!!!!! Ouch!

I think its a good habit to use a set of "cigarette lighter plug jumper cables/battery" while doing this to keep the "keep alive memory" alive while swapping batteries.

Mine is homemade - - it is just 8 "AA" batteries all wired in series (12 volts) and the "tip" of the plug is the '' + ''

It goes into whichever power port is "hot all the time"

It's a 12 volt battery. Any $50 Walmart 24F will work.

How will you vent the battery to the outside of the car with a regular 24F/24R? Maybe an Optima or an another AGM could work with jury-rigged venting. Not to mention a flooded battery will offgas and spew acid fumes all over the place.
