Own a 1979 300sd Mercedes (w116) and need to replace the oil cooler lines.

The oil cooler lines, part numbers 6171871282 (lower) and 6171871582 (upper) are no longer available thru Mercedes.

Only see oil cooler lines being sold by Trucktec and Cohline. The lower oil cooler line is not available thru Cohline.
I've been told to stay away from the lower oil cooler line sold by Trucktec (no personal experience).
Many are keeping their original fittings and replacing the hose and double crimping the joint.

Anyone know where I can get good quality oil cooler lines?

Any advice is greatly appreciated

If you're not pining for originality, a competent hydraulic shop should be able to dupe the lines with parts and materials of superior quality. I've never brought a hose to mine and been told it couldn't be done. They're used to making some ridiculously weird stuff.

The info you have already is pretty much the truth as far as I know. The cheaper lines aren't trusted and as an alternative many have their lines rebuilt or devise adapter fittings to use a standard thread size on the fittings.
