With the cold these day and people probably using the block heater, anyone's truck caught on fire? Mine hasn't......yet

Lost a few F350s to thus type of fire, early late 1990 to 2000 MYs diesels. Included an inspect and replace block heater cord in their PM service schedule and the problem went away.
Problem would show up 3 to 5 years after being put into service.

The main reason for these fires is that hardly anyone replaces the cord that connect to the block heater and after years of exposure to everything the road can throw at it it breaks, corrodes and then shorts.
