I put some Koni yellow shocks on my 99 Saab 9-3 a few months ago. I have found that in cold weather, I get a creaking sound from them. I'm wondering about the mounting doughnuts. There is a diagram provided with the shocks that show that the doughnuts should be over compressed. I don't know if that is the problem (overcompression) or the composition of the rubber. I was wondering whether I could swap out the doughnuts with some kind of poly that would be less sensitive to temperature.

Anyone have any insight or experience?

I am not sure, but I thought that was the drawback of poly ? i.e. too noisy or squeaks. I suggest spraying some silicon anyplace there is a bushing.
