This and also they have to keep and specifics as closely guarded as possible from competitors that aren't willing to spend the $1300 or so to reverse engineer the oil through a lab.

There is an important difference, though. The audience here is more than just those of us who really are paying attention and know a bit about specifications. There are plenty of lurkers, and this site does come in pretty high in search engines when people are looking for information.

Realistically, I don't expect a Q&A to even cover what's in a data sheet, and definitely not more than those numbers, since formulations are always subject to change. In fact, given that this is the first dexos1 oil in the ROTELLA lineup, formulation was a consideration here, as opposed to slapping a new name on a Formula Shell offering.

Question 24: That was my question; just to clarify, I asked about both flat tappet and newer vehicles without flat tappets. The recommendation was for Rotella T4 for flat tappets and PUP for new vehicles.
