I'm flying both Adam, at least until sometime this fall.

Cool, you think you will stay in Florida after that or....?

No idea, just transferred to my new job on Monday, will be in this job till March 2021 who knows after that, will depend on if I select for Operational Department Head or not next year, up for O-4 in May of this year.

Well, good luck Luke in whatever path you choose going forward.

COD = Carrier Onboard Delivery. Would only likely be known to those stationed on flattops or those who crewed them. At some points during deployments, they were the only thing you could really get excited about seeing. Otherwise all it was was sweaty Airedales and hot sand.

Just kidding, as much fun as it was teasing them, the carrier needs them.

Plane with the folded wings is a Curtis Fireball.

One radial engine on the nose also has a early jet engine in the fuselage.

TOMB

Corrected plane Mfg,

Also there was one at the New England Air Museum until the Tornado destroyed it along with many other types around 1975. Pictures are still displayed at the Museum

We're still flying them, active duty through fall of this year and reserve through 2021.

I had heard the engines on a P-3 Orion can swallow a tremendous amount of water without any ill effects. Which is why the Hurricane Hunters use them almost exclusively. Is that true?
