It's not restricted to 2013 and newer vehicles.

It also gives fluids for differentials, transmissions, etc, etc if you scroll down far enough after it shows your vehicle's results.

It is no different than Pennzoil motor oil lookup tool. They recommend the most expensive oil first. It is more a tool for them to promote the most expensive product.

I wonder how they figure on what models etc take a certain oil


I tried it just for fun, on my 96 Contour with the 2.5 is recommends Maxlife 5w30


On my 97 Thunderbird LX with the 4.6 it recommends Maxlife Full Synthetic 5w30

Obviously the 14' of timing chain needs a full synthetic vs. just the 10' on the Contour.
