Do you buy OEM fuel filters or aftermarket?

Although fuel filters look a lot like oil filters, the oil flows at liters or quarts per minute with oil filters and liters or quarts per hour with fuel filters. It's not brain surgery to build a decent gas filter.

OEM or from who made the OEM part originally. On Japanese cars, Denso/Mahle Japan/Toyo Roki made the OEM filter and I've noticed Worldpac's NPN line did have a Japanese-made part in the box that felt and installed like the OEM Denso.

Last time I replaced a fuel filter, I used a Taiwanese GM clone. It works fine. One thing about California's mandate for double-walled fiberglass underground tanks for pollution prevention, cleaner(in terms of particulate matter) fuel at the pump.

Usually buy Mann filters.

Funny, that on the 2.0T (FSI-turbo and TSI), VW puts a second external fuel filter on certain cars, namely GTI's and Jettas.

The same engine on a Passat, CC, & Tiguan only has the in-tank filter/strainer only. No external second filter.
