Bought it Monday night, brought it home Thursday night. It took them a while to find the colors and options I wanted at a dealer willing to trade.

Finally had a chance today to properly wash and wax it. Also removed some residual adhesive from the shipping plastics and took care of a minor scratch. Used Iron-X as a presoak and then used my foam cannon for two rounds with Griot's Brilliant Finish.

Topped with Griot's Poly Wax on the paint and Griot's Spray-On Wax for the plastics. Yes, I waxed the wheels.

The tires are finished with Griot's Black Shine.

The interior didn't need much (obviously). More in the name of some UV protection than anything else I used Griot's Interior Detailer on the plastics and Griot's Leather Care on the seats.

So far I love it. The only thing I'm missing from a new Q7 is the supercharger and big Brembos. Some of the plastics in the Atlas are noticably cheaper, but it doesn't bother us. I would prefer air suspension, but my future sanity and wallet are glad it isn't available.

We both think it rides better than the Q7, and the interior feels much more spacious and usable. The trick folding second row is really what sold us.

As a longtime VW fan of course I love the VR6. Smooth with a great sound and plenty of power to get us down the road. The Aisin 8 speed is perfect in the Atlas - I hated it in our Volvo. I guess it's all in the programming.

Congrats. I drove a 2018 with the 4-cyl and thought it was adequately powered. The V6 must be even nicer.

What motivated you to trade in the Q7?

A third baby on the way and the complete lack of usability in the Q7's third row.

Great looking Atlas, congrats on the vehicle and baby on the way. Along with Nissan's VQ series, VW's VR6 is my favorite v6...has been since i owned an mk3 GTi vr6 in the 90s (my first of a few). Hoping it serves your family well for many years.

No disclaimer needed on waxing the wheels, i do the same.
