What motorcycle would you put this in ? Unless it called for a 0w-X in the manual, I think I would not recommend it. I can see possibly a ATV or snowmobile might recommend it for cold temps though.

I don't know about the 0w-40 but M1 HM 10w-30 works great in my Kawasaki UTV. HTHS >3.5 of the 0w-40 I would think would be fine.

0W is just the cold weather rating of the oil, 0w-40, 10W-40 are both 40 wts at operating temp so a 0W will not cause one bit of problems except maybe start easier. Honda ATV's have wet clutch so its must carry the JASO MA spec.

I wouldn't use it if it has an internal "wet" clutch. Use a good 5W-40 or 15W-40 diesel oil. Shell Rotella oil in these grades meets the JASO MA wet clutch specs. I have used them for years in several ATV/UTV's with excellent results. I prefer the 15W-40 unless I'm running it in the Winter when 5W-40 makes it easier to start.

I wouldn't use it. There is nothing demanding Mobil to build it to resist heavy shearing, and there is great potential for it to shear a lot very quickly ( 1. ATV/Motorcycle Oil
2. Allison TES-439 spec'd HDEO oil (15w40)
3. Monograde HD oils
4. CK4 HDEO (15w40)

maybe try looking for Delo XLE 15w40 next?

Just use M1 Racing 4t 10W-40 and don't worry about it, a motorcycle oil designed for wet clutch use. I've had good luck with it in my 400EX. I'd never use a car oil in a wet clutch, if it's not JASO certified, don't even try!

Not to mention, M1 Racing 4t 10W-40 is formulated with extra shear resistant additives in mind for this purpose. It's a very stout motorcycle oil and the best I've tried so far. I'd imagine as stated above, a 0W-40 would shear out of grade real fast in a shared sump application as these are extremely hard on oil.
