What is Honda’s Plan For CR-V and Civic Oil Dilution?

(let me finish that for you)

...Oh, wait... F1 turbo experience means buck all in the real world, emission-regulated, consumer motoring sector and clearly didn't help them AT ALL with their turbocharged, direct-injected consumer products.

But seriously, either Honda has 2003 tier injectors complete with 2003 tier spray patterns/staging or they have sketchy ECU programming. The extended warm up time suggests the latter.

You'd be surprised how much the technology works back and forth, or at least the expertise. Honda's experience so far notwithstanding, Mercedes F1 simply poached a bunch of engineers from their commercial truck division to work on the F1 turbo.

Honda Racing's team was but their turbo engines supplied to other teams did extremely well. The McLaren Mp4/4 comes to mind. Ayrton Senna did pretty well with a turbocharged Honda engine.

Obviously, a modern CR-V and a late 80's turbo F1 car have a lot in common.

--Not really. The 1.5T is only the second turbo that Honda has ever sold in the US, the first being the RDX turbo from 10 years ago.

The RDX, and the current 1.5T and 2.0T are the only three turbos Honda has ever sold over here. And even in the home market, Honda has only used turbos very sparingly.---

Nevermind the decades of turbo experience they have had in formula 1 racing.....that does not count.

Just because they don't release many turbo variants in NA, does not mean that a company - Honda Asia/America - has experience in turbo engineering.

They have decades of R and D in turbo usage in gasoline engines.

It is exceedingly sad you failed to see the sarcasm in that statement. Since you are splitting hairs, the first turbo Honda sold in the US was NOT the Acura RDX. I'll repeat, I also owned a Honda CX500t from 1982.
