Hello, first post so be easy on me.

Simple question. The 2012 F150 Ecoboost requires WSS-M2C946-A but can the WSS-M2C946-B1 be used?

If so, I assume that A couldn't be used in place of the B1?

Read several threads discussing these oils but couldn't seem to find the answer.

to BITOG!

Here is what Ford lists each as on their service info site. To me it looks like the B1 can be used in A applications but I'll let the Ford folks answer.

Motor oil (Canada): Motorcraft® SAE 5W-30 Super Premium Motor Oil CXO-5W30-LSP12 WSS-M2C946-A

The M2C945-B1 will work fine also SN+ is a great oil. I use Mobil 1 that meets these specs in my 2016 and 2018 ford fusion 1.5 Ecoboost.

I have been using Mobil 1 for years in the truck.
Went to pick up supplies for an oil change today and seen the store carries Motorcraft oil also.
Seen that it meets the B1 specs but didn't say anything about A.
Wasn't sure if it would work or not so got the Mobil 1 though the Motorcraft was $8 cheaper.
