I'm trying to get a quote to ship a Steeda rear sway bar for a Ford Fusion from New York to L0J1C0 postal code in Canada and I am finding it to be $50+. Does anyone know of a more economical way of shipping this item?

You don't want to see what small parcels under one pound cost me to ship to Canada and I'm in Maryland.
Ridiculous. I don't think you will find a bargain in shipping.

What shipping method is your $50 quote from? And how much does the Steeda bar weigh? smile

Long items like a sway bar can be expensive to ship, even domestically.

I've tried Fedex, USPS, and UPS. The bar weighs about 20lbs, if that.

Shipping costs to Canada are ridiculous.
Ship it to a UPS Customer Counter in Buffalo and have the customer pick it up

Can you ship it to a work/business address? Because that will also get you a lower price smile

If you're lucky enough to work at a large company that will let you ship using their account and their discount (you just pay the company), that might work, too.

Shipping costs in general are ridiculous. I paid $54 to ship a motorcycle seat within the states. Your cost of $50+ sounds normal to me.

It's because shipping rates via USPS are subsidized by the US tax payer in Canada we don't subsidize our Post Office, so you are incurring the actual cost of shipping.

Lately, largely because of the cost of shipping, I buy from anywhere but the US.
I have tended to buy more items from the UK, shipping is less, it will arrive sooner and the $-£ exhange rate is favorable

USPS shipping rates are NOT subsidized by taxpayer money. StevieC check the facts before making such a false statement.
