Better check your manual before you dump 10 quarts in it. My '18 5.0L specs 8.8 quarts.

What I've done on mine to disable the start/stop system is simple and it works, no errors or anything. There is a small two wire connection off of the battery, if you unplug that it will turn the system off. Many have done it, no ill effects so far. Mine has been off for 3-4 months now.

That disables the Battery Management System as well. It apparently dictates the charging algorithm, perhaps other things. Some on the truck forums suggest disabling the BMS is a good thing but I have yet to be convinced taking into consideration an AGM battery.

Update: as the weather got colder, shifting became completely unacceptable. Everything from violent 1-2 shifts that felt like the driveshaft snapped to hanging in first gear to dropping into neutral briefly between 1 and 2. The dealer did the update flash and it is now acceptable. It's still not like the previous 6 speed but I can live with it.

We got the 6R100 Torqshift G (upgraded 6R80) when the 10-spd came out in the F150. They shifted the production capacity of the 6-spd to gasser F250s when the 10-spd hit your market. The 6R100 is a sweet tranny overall.
Those of us driving the "new" 6.2L F250 trucks thank you for your donation!

- under maintaining something is akin to abuse/neglect; that can kill equipment by shortening the lifespan
- over maintaining something has never been proven to be anything but a waste of time and money

I have a 2017 F53 chassis with the 6.8 V10 and a 6R140 transmission. The 6R140 shift quality is on a par with an Allison. Unfortunately, neither one is available in a pick up.
