At the lake for the holidays, and this morning heard the sound of a couple of airplanes diving on the house.

Went out on the deck and saw a couple of monoplanes practicing some formation aerobatics, mostly loops and turns, one lime green and the other bright red; look to be a couple of Extras.

They've been at it all day. Maybe this is common up here ( I'm not up here much ), or maybe a couple of guys got early Christmas presents. Great day for flying, looks to be CAVU and crisp air.

The local GA airport, Carter Field, is not too far away as the crow flies, so likely flying out of there. It's a pretty nice airport, control tower, U.S. Custom office, 6000' x 100' and, yes, the FBO is run by … Wal Mart Aviation.

Sam's Ercoupe is on static display in an aviation museum, a couple of towns South of here.

I grew up in the SF Bay Area and my parents house over looked the SF airport I would for hours watch the endless line up of planes landing. The commercial pilots are so good !
