PRANG C-130 crash ruled pilot error

Several mistakes were made and it sounds like morale in the unit has been an issue. It comes down to the aircrew making poor decisions during the emergency.
As a former C-130 engine technician the description of the troubleshooting and check out procedures had me shaking my head.

Not really surprised at the low morale and poor attitudes of mechanics 'good enough' mentality.

This ANG wing needs to be shut down and only have the Army National Guard in Puerto Rico.

Crew prepared poorly. Engine was fixed improperly.

It malfunctioned on takeoff and the pilots did everything wrong.

Geez....

This is tragic because it was so very avoidable.

Better maintenance. Better briefing. Better performance in flight. Any one of those things could've prevented this.

Top down problem. If this base is seen as an afterthought - backwater with no mission at the top of the command chain it needs house cleaning, a clear mission, or shut down.
