Danny Ricciardo was in a bad mood when he said he'd let Gasly drive his cursed Red Bull car, but has he triggered a giant swap among Renault-connected drivers: DR to Renault, Sainz to McLaren, Gasly to Red Bull, Kvyat to Toro Rosso, and Stoffel out?
It could be done because Renault is safely in fourth and don't mind Carlos taking Renault data to McL-Renault, plus Sainz wants into the McLaren early, as do Gasly and Kvyat into their new teams. RBR is safe in third and wouldn't mind Gasly (future champ) getting in some early sparring with Max at RBR and also wouldn't mind Dan leaving Max unchallenged for the final two races. If Honda progresses normally, RBR could make a championship run next year, so getting an early start with Gasly this year would be valuable.
And best of all, the fans will have something new to talk about (besides how cursed is Danny Ric or how incompetent is Red Bull), since everything's all settled this year.

I foresee Ricciardo's F1 career going into serious decline at Renault. Red Bull could mount a good challenge to Merc and Ferrari with a better engine because they always have a good chassis. Renault so far hasn't shown in the past that they can develop a good chassis, and will have an uncompetitive engine as well.

I think Daniel's talk fueled a lot of rumours. If Stroll isn't going to leave Williams in the lurch and jump ship in his position, Daniel won't either, and he's said as much. He just likes to go off a little bit after a bad result that's out of his control. Now, that's not to say he hasn't had an inordinate share of bad results out of his control this year, but there's no point in throwing the team under the bus each time. The alternative is, I suppose, being Max, where Dr. Marko feeds him lines about Honda and Renault at strategic times. All we need is Max delivering these interviews in an Austrian accent
