Brother in law's 2004 Civic. Was complaining of random over heating. Trying cheapest route (bleed + new coolant) before venturing over to a blown head gasket.

Drained 1/2 gallon of universal green from the radiator.
Filled back up and bled with Zerex Blue.

11 GMC Canyon, 2nd drain and fill in 3 months, Prestone Dex cool / distilled water. Prolly won't touch it for 3-4 years if I still have the truck

2006 Tacoma 4-cylinder, 146k miles, water pump started weeping so I replaced it along with the coolant which was due at 150k anyway. Still runs like new.

2003 G.Marquis, 29k miles. I did the first lower hose extraction in July, filled with 2 gallons of 50/50 G05 coolant and did another last week . The 15 year coolant on the first dump was nice and clean but way overdue.

Forgot to mention, mid August, about the same time as I did my Tb, I did another partial coolant change. My rez truck has somewhere around 381,000km and the coolant began to freeze this past winter. We had several days where the ambient was around the -40C mark. Noticed coolant had leaked out into the snow and found it partially frozen. I plugged in the block heater and got it running. Well when the thermostat opened there was no room for the coolant to go as the rad was still frozen. She puked out a gallon or more. So I topped it up and ran it for a few more months and then drained the rad again for another partial change.

I used "certified" brand from Cambodian Tire, the generic green stuff. I have close to 3 gallons of fresh coolant in her now.

Drained out the 5 plus year old Peak long life from our 09 Sonata and replaced with same and replaced upper and lower hose and stat as well.

Had leaking head gasket replaced on our 2010 Forester at cost of $2100 and they put in G05 long life antifreeze.

last spring put in regular NAPA ethyl glycol in our Tuscon . All but the Napa are 5yr antifreeze. Napa was full strength so had to mix with 50% distilled. The Peak was a pre mix.

Neighbor's 2010 Honda Accord 4 cyl. @ 100K.

Removing the radiator drain petcock yields 1 gallon.

Replace with the same volume of Honda Type-II coolant. It comes pre-mixed.

NOTE: The new stuff was darker than what drained. The old stuff was clear.

I had done this once before.

Just did it for the first time. Drained from petcock and then filled with distilled water...ran for 25 min and then drained and filled. I am thinking about doing it again in a week or so.

1999 Honda Accord 2.3 220K miles - Out Mazda Long Life green concentrate. In Mazda Long Life green. Installed new water pump, thermostat, and hoses, so I had a good look at the condition of the entire cooling system and it was spotless. Cleaned the core of bugs and road grime. Searching for total coolant capacity may have caused me to end up with less than 50/50 concentration, Some sources said 6 quarts total, some said 8. I probably put in about 3 1/2 quarts of concentrate. I'll have to test to verify I'm good to at least -25F since I'll be spending some time in the northern US this winter.

20 years and 220K miles on original radiator is impressive. It looks excellent.

Replace upper and lower radiator hoses, cap and drain plug. Refilled with six quarts of Zerex Asian Vehicle coolant. Didn't drain block so shouldn't have a problem with air trapped in cooling system.

2002 Toyota Tacoma (3.4L V6). 222K miles. Drained around 2 gallons of Zerex Asian and replaced with same yesterday, 11/4/18.

I've owned this truck since new and will continue on with the maintenance to keep her on the road. :)

2012 Honda Odyssey

Out: Factory fill
In: Peak Long Life and dH2O (50%)

Drained radiator and block, and then refilled with dH2O before bringing up to running temp with heater turned to high. Let cool for 30 min and then drained water again. Refilled with new coolant and dH2O.

Note to Honda owners: the drain on the engine block is really tight, and a 12mm deep socket/breaker bar is necessary to open the first time. Two feet of 1/4" hose can then be easily slipped over the nipple to guide the old coolant to a pan.

Out: brown crap

Step sons grandfather gifted him the truck.

Today we are dumping the coolant

We think it is filled with Prestone universal green. Grandfather had a partial bottle sitting in the garage he said was what he put in the truck.

Refilling with Prestone Universal Green

We want to change the fluid to check condition of old stuff and engine interior. Also we want to change all fluids in the end so out this comes today. We already did oil change before driving 470 mile journey home. Checked other fluids and they looked good enough for trip home.

2006 GM / Holden / Opel (AH) Astra

Out: Valvoline Zerex Dex-Cool and the old water pump

In: Valvoline Zerex Dex-Cool and the new water pump

The coolant was about 4 years and 60,000 km old, the reason was a leak in the old water pump.

2007 Chevrolet Impala 3.5 V6 Flex Fuel with 82,000 miles. Had to replace the water pump so I also decided to drain and fill the radiator as last flush was 2015 . I drained and filled with Preston GM Approved Dex Cool Orange and included a 16 ounce bottle of RMI.
