I just saw this in the news app. Kasey is a local guy from Enumclaw WA.

Apparently this was his last season but his body cannot take it anymore.

He said he can still race sprint cars since the races are shorter and with them being open there is more airflow to keep his body cool.

Really scary the way he describes what happened to him while racing. Sounds like David Reynolds had a similar experience in the closing laps of the Bathurst 1000 this past weekend.

Yeah, Kasey had a real bad experience with physical exhaustion and dehydration at the 2017 Brickyard 400, which he won. Seemed to have more susceptibility to that earlier this year, and after the Southern 500 Labor Day weekend, sat out the Brickyard 400 this year. And still sitting out races since then. Your health is all you have, if you don't have that, well...

He's set financially. I suspect deep inside, he doesn't want to be an also ran with less financially capable teams that can't throw money at things to get that extra 1/100 of a percent out of the car.

Good choice for Kasey, wasn't a fan in terms of a favorite driver to follow, but good on him.

Not sure, he seems pretty shy. But it would be cool.

Saw Kasey Kane race all three nights of the Trophy Cup this last weekend in the 14 car.He really likes getting back into a sprint car. Came in 7th in the B main on Saturday, so he still has a little rust to shake off.
