Pixel 1 won't use WiFi...any ideas?

Wife's 2 year old Pixel phone won't use wifi. It says connected and network saved, but then never lets her use it - won't even go to the password page if there is one required.

Tried cell data on and off, and several remedies from online without success. We're currently traveling away from home but that shouldn't make a difference for wifi should it?

Cycles back and forth from connected/saved/connected....

Start with safe mode.

Hold the power button, until you get the pop up, then long press the power button to reboot into safe mode.

If wifi functions normally then you know an app is causing it.

Thanks for the suggestion! Tried it out, still won't work and standing right next to the router (which is working fine) it shows only 1 bar so something's up with the phne.

Off to the store tomorrow to see if it is dead or fixable; thanks again--

Is your OS and all apps up to date?

I think so...she's got everything on auto-update as far as I can tell.

Thanks for the info...had it checked and the bluetooth/wifi section of the board is fried....iphone 8+ charging...
