My dearly departed Lincoln LS(3.9L AJ-V8) could manage ~23mpg in pure highway driving. I rarely saw lower than 18 in mixed city/highway.
V8 owners... what mileage do you get?

09 Grand Marquis w/168k miles - current mixed is 18mpg. On the highway I see as good as 27mpg frequently, though my driving style could be described as 'spirited'.

In the 20k miles that I've owned it (81k-101k), it has averaged 17.3 mpg (miles ÷ actual gallons put in) in rural driving. That includes very cold weather and blazing trails down snow covered roads. We recently covered 600 miles over a couple of days in central and western NY (all on two lane roads) and averaged 20.3 mpg with an estimated weight of 7400 lbs (truck, passengers and cargo).
This truck is by far the best combination of power and economy of all that I've owned. The average is more than 2 mpg better than any of my previous F150s (or my dad's Silverados) in the same usage.

My work truck is a 2016 4x4 2500 Chevy short box double cab 6.0 3.73 gears with a ladder rack and loaded close to gvwr.
It gets about 13.5mpg with e0 premium and maybe 14.5mpg or a bit better with e10 regular. E85 is about 11 to 12.5mpg. And yes I drive enough and varied enough that those are fairly good numbers and those e10 and e0 numbers are not what I have expirienced in other vehicles.

The Silverado 5.3 ecotec right now is at 19.5 MPG. Not bad for a Z71 crew cab with mixed driving?
Just did back canyons, some freeway, the Hunter Liggett and Jolon Rd, SLO back roads to Avila Beach and coast highway home (Hwy 1) - 1993 F-150 4x4 5.8L with no bed cover, bikes in the back - 13.56 average.

My lifetime MPG since I owned the '17 Mustang GT from 8700 mi. Love how the 5.0 Coyote is stock tuned to be able to run 87.
