I imagine ours will look very similar, with a few omissions in the interior I'm sure. Hopefully VW won't make the 7 speed DGS standard, a great unit for sure but I would prefer a standard auto for longevity. It looks pretty nice, almost like a cross between the new Jetta and the Arteon.

VW has access to some great platforms. Thankfully now spending some time on looks and interiors.

It will be 8 speed auto likely as cheaper, US customers think the DSG is broken at low speeds so it won't cut it.

The US Passat will probably identical to the Chinese version but with different engines, and possibly a real transmission instead of the DSG

I like it a lot. China is the new main market for VW, the US may not even see this extended one.

I'm with you on the partially black wheels. I didn't like it when it started and it hasn't grown on me yet. The car itself looks much nicer than the current Jetta in my opinion. The new Jetta is the first VW i haven't liked the exterior design of.

Shiny sections of dashboard are a big no no, that's what happens when you let people that take the bus design cars. Oversized rims, no wagon - I hope it stays in China.
