I peraonally love them freshly canned by aunts and uncles. Then pickle few hard boiled eggs in the juice and I'm in heaven

Do you folks love or hate them?

I hate them. My wife loves beets, especially the free ones I got from Safie's Foods

Used to like pickled lambs tongues, Rogers used to have them, don't see them anymore.

It's all good stuff.

. Pete: thanks for that, I'm going to go throw up!

they have a LOT of health benefits, unlike most of todays processed foods!!

Do they have flavor? I've eaten them before, in many forms, and always felt like they were quite bland?

I like beets and wife hates them.
We therefore have beets only rarely.
Same with turnips.

Home grown beets are awesome, the multi-colored, gold and light red ones.
Blanch the leaves and stems, boil the bulbs for about 40 minutes, peel the bulbs when coolish.
Slice the bulbs and mix with the leaves and stems in a light vinegar, oil, salt and pepper dressing.
Truly good

Agreed,
I make big batch like this every few weeks
Slice them
keep leftovers in the fridge for snacking
My 3 yr old calls them "red cookies"
